Just picked up a 2004 C2...

My first Porsche, and I am very pleased. I was driving an Audi RS 4 and a Dodge Viper SRT/10 before this, and I'd say this is a great addition. This 911 is a Carrera 2, black on black, 18" wheels, sport exhaust (amazing sound!), leather package, hi-fi stereo, xenons, and a few other things. Best of all, it only has 14,000 miles on it!

However, I have a couple of questions:

1) My car is equipped with the "hi-fi" stereo. It's not bose, but I guess an upgrade from the standard stereo. How hard is it to replace the speakers in this? It seems as if they are easily accessible. Any weird impedence for the speakers? How about a new head unit so I can do ipod integration? It all looks relatively standard. Or is there an adapter that lets you plug in the ipod where the cd changer goes?

2) The previous owner pushed out the hood release switch with his shoe. I can still open it via the key fob, but I should probably get this fixed. How hard is it to pull off the door sill panel? I assume the switch just needs to be clipped in again.

I think that's it. I have already put 200 miles on the car, and I work from home! :P

Looking forward to participating in the community.

Oh, I remember. I need a car cover for storage inside my garage, as sometimes it leaks. What are you all using for car covers? I would like one with the Porsche crest on it if possible.

Thanks,

- Anthony

Looks like a public garage,, I would think it would make more sense to have one with no emblem or one that says "kia"

Welcome and nice car! I can barely see the front right side, but it looks like it still has the orange side markers. You can change those to clear for just a few $$, and makes for a nice first mod. There are others I'd recommend but you should just enjoy the car as is for a bit. Have fun!

Very nice, looks clean. Low miles! Quite a change from a viper and super audi.

Not a public garage - my underground parking for my condo.

Already ordered them from Pelican Parts, as well as a few other little things.

Congrats - great looking ride. Here's a plug for the iPorsche iPod kit. It's not very hard to install, you just have to disassemble the center console a little bit (do a search, there are great instructions on here somewhere - I used them and they were spot on...) The only thing that needs to be updated in those instructions is you have to get an adaptor to downconvert 12V to 5V so that the Gen 4 Nanos can be charged when it's plugged in... Other than that, there have been great discussions on speaker replacement here too - suggest you search that one too...

Congrats and enjoy your new ride in good health!

Rudy

We carry 3 different Porsche car covers. 1 for ourdoor use called the Silverguard plus and the 2nd is our triguard indoor cover and the 3rd is a premium indoor car cover.

Doh, I tried to send you a PM, but apparently I don't have enough posts. I'll give you a call sometime today.
