Fly,

I don't think your gap is anywhere near as big as mine! I won't mind it if the gaps for my side markers are like yours.

Thanks Rudy!

Yeah, my car was there for 4 weeks, and I did tell them to take their time. Everytime I go there to visit, my car would just be lying there like a dusty wreckage, with parts lying all over the place and they would always tell me there're no problems. Then, after they give me the end-product, they would give all sorts of excuses to avoid taking off everything to re-do. *sigh"

Jason,

If my car can get somewhere near the perfection of your car's appearance, I would be so proud!

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, I will ask my installer (the new one!) to add some silicon for me.

Hi Edwin,

Can the bumper be pushed in some more from the looks of my pictures? I thought that's the max. Anyway, I'll try to get some pics of under the hood. I don't think they shaved off the reinforcement bar, only the plastic air ducts. Oh, I can't take pics inside the radiator ducts - I had wire grills covering up all the 3 holes in the front bumper. So, will need to tear off something to take pics inside, something which I cannot do until my installer takes over.

Could be a large part of the problem...

It is highly unlikely that the installed did not trim the reinforcement bar. If he didn't, there'd be no way he could mount and line up the ducts properly. Yes based on your pics (which I showed Tony - owner of PP), you can push the bumper in at least another 1/4" on the sides. It might be hitting something... I think once you figure out how to push the sides in some more, it will close the gap in. If your shop wants to call Tony, let me know. He's always willing and glad to help customer's get things right

if you bring your car to NY and to my friends bodyshop, he'll give it back to you perfect

he experimented with my car since it was the first TA kit he did, after a few tries we got it perfect, it takes a few times to get everything to fit perfectly

he's done over 12 TA kits local ny/nj/ct already

Thanks Jason for the pics!

I suppose your pic 2 shows that corner of the metal reinforcement bar that was shaved off right? And is pic 4 relevant? Do I need to do anything to the side air ducts?

Oh by the way, I would happily send it to your friend's workshop cos he did such a perfect job on your car.. and I wish I could! But alas, I am in sunny Singapore, thousands of miles away!

Hi Edwin,

Yeah, Tony is a real helpful guy who provides quick response, and I really like the quality of his kit - but too bad that my crap installer doesn't do it justice.

I am not sure whether he shaved off the reinforcement bar, becos he would have asked me first before doing it (knowing he is not too familiar with P cars). I will see whether there is anything pushing the sides out once my new installer takes off the bumper. And since Tony himself says it should be pushed in some more, this gives me the confidence to tell the installer to use more brute force on the parts. Thanks a lot!

yes pic 2 shows that the metal bar needs to be shaved
pic 4 shows that you need to trim the side air ducts. if you don't, it may cause the bumper to stick out more on the sides

yeah, singapore is on the far side

um, don't use brute force on any parts
if it doesn't fit well, it usually means there is something that needs to be trimmed or cut on the inside. it takes a time to fit a bumper properly. you gotta put it on, check the fit, take it off, shave/trim some more... yeah, it's a repetative process... tell your bodyshop to take his time.. i don't believe labor is too expensive in singapore

Yes, please don't use brute force. Like Jason said, it's prob b/c something is in the way. If you use too much force, it will likely crack the bumper. Please let us know what the resolution/issue is! We are here for you

Edwin
