Just did this Mod. It was very easy but don't use the supplied super glue. Instead use pieces of two way tape. The glue did not work and destroys any plastic it touches. They were bought at Brandywine for $109.

Neil,
I just did it also. I couldn't get the two sided tape to work. I ended up using the super glue and some clear silicone. Are the brandywine ones oem?
I used FVD, they look great, but the fit could have been a little better. I agree the sg is messy, if it gets on anything, you got to get it off with acetone /np remover asap. Will post pics soon.

At Brandywine they said they were maid by the same company as the OEM. Finish is fine. I used the 2 way tape along the sides of the concavity, and used multiple pieces. Seems to hold fine. I did not think of using silicon.....great idea, if mine does not hold as is I'll redo with silicon.

We carry the oem trim rings for the 996, and have for several years. We never recommend glue. Either double sided tape or GE Silicone is best.

Got Rings ? ? ?

Here are some aluminum trim rings that I had ordered from
www.bumperplugs.com . These were easy to install and only took a few minutes. It brightens the interior. Used silicone to attach them instead of 2-way tape.
