JIC/Cross. Mine has been great for 30+K miles. Absolutely NO drone, very nice workmanship, nice deep sound. I have Fabspeed headers and stock cats.

exhaust

I would highly recommend caragraphic, It sounds perfect and it sounds like the noise you are looking for!

I use the FVD sound version. It's quiet enough for everyday and when you want loud just "punch it". It's not the cheapest system but it won't drone you out of the cabin either. Tubi also makes some nice products.

We have a few options that have absolutely no resonance in the cabin with a rich, deep growl. Our mufflers would be perfect for a cab.

This is our export version which retails for $ 921.00

and you can find the other's here...

Thanks,

Search for the PSE muffler hack. I had this done on my mufflers for 200 bucks. It sounds very close almost exactly like the actual PSE exhaust.

It is funny every time I read a "What exhaust to buy" thread...........
Man, are you confused yet? I sure was

My advice is get with some local 996 owners w/ AFTER mkt or hacked up exhaust and see how their cars sound. The videos are nice but may not be exactly your car sound.

A search will give you tons of info but this subject has been beat to death. I found that it is completely a personal decision on what sound you like, can tolerate, or just can not take. And then cost is a factor....how much do you want to spend? Mufflers IMHO are the way to go but range from 750-3000.00 depending on material , and where they are made.

I personally did not want to spend over 1200.00 for my mufflers...just made no sense to me. I settled on AfterHours exhaust system for under a grand and could not be happier. My 2nd choice (only because I had no sound data to hear at my buying moment, was the M&K exhaust)which cost slightly more.

Another thing to consider is what if you hate what you buy? Which company will work with you to resolve or leave you in the dust? I have seen several that hated almost every exhaust mentioned above......including mine, so to each his/her own and do your homework before giving out that credit card number.

After hours automotive are the lightest exhaust systems and they also sound great.
