Front cover/hood help!

My front hood/cover will not open on my 2001 911. When I activate the electronic release, I can hear the mechanism moving, however, it will not release. I do not see or cannot find a manual release anywhere. Can you please help!

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thank you

There is a manual release cable buried in the bumper on the passenger side of the front bumper. Dig around there looking for a thin, silver, braided cable with a loop on the end as a handle.

Your user manual will probably have more details than that.

It is easier to access the release cable if you remove the passenger side wheel well cover...after that you might want to route the cable somewhere for easier access. Likely your latch mechanism needs adjustment.

Remove the front passenger wheel to make removal of the wheel well liner very easy. It is up there, where the fender meets the hood area.
