rear seat mod

anyone ever removed the rear seat backs and replaced with a larger single piece deck to improve storage, like the older 911's? or done any mods on the seats to convert into better storage areas? is there a pre-fab kit available to do this?

I removed my rear seat backs just to cut out the extra 20lbs of weight.

Last Car is infamous around these parts
I took the back seats out because I've never had to use them and it gives me more room for things like luggage.

Thanks for the reply. looks good.

any problems getting the seats/seatbelts out? did you put in a flat "bench" to replace the seats? I'm thinking of doing a larger, single piece to replace the seat backs.

how about a pic of the area behind your front seats....

No real problem getting the seats out. Bottom seats just 'stick' on, the top seats have a bolt holding the middle conecting rod in; both sides have a bolt also. I decided not to take the seat belts and the main back seat bracket off because I might need to put everything back on day.

If you look on the RennTech site you'll find where someone left the seats in place then made a cover to go over them. Let me know if I can help you find it....PM me.

Good luck,

Those seat backs are damn heavy... I didn't weigh mine, but 20lbs for all parts removed would not surprise me at all.
