PSE Question?

I heard there is some sort of clip that inhibits the exhaust noise from 35-45 mph, making it quieter. Is that true? The exhaust note does spike up after 45 mph or so. If this is true, how do I remove this clip? Thanks.

The factory installed PSE (with the electronics & vacuum system) closes the muffler valves between 30 & 40 mph (to comply with certain european country noise laws), so the mufflers are in sport (loud) mode below and above that speed window. There's a hack to disable that cutoff on renntech.org

If you are thinking about buying a PSE, you can install it without the electronics and it's "on" all the time.

If you don't have the electronics, is there still a drop in sound between 30&40 mph?

I actually find the PSE kind of quiet.

I posted the link in this forum awhile back.

IMO, this is a MANDATORY mod for all PSE owners.

I agree, the PSE 30-45 mph cutout is annoying. I had my local Porsche dealership disable it for me. Cost was minimal.

As others have stated there are instructions on Renntech.org which I first attempted to follow until I quickly realized that even with clear instructions I was in way over my head.

Either way it can be done. It will greatly enhance the enjoyment of your PSE!!!
