Cup holder broke, part number??

Hello 966 owners.

my cup holder under my vents just broke.

does anyone know the part number and any alternative places to buy?

My dealership said they will charge a couple of hundred bucks and need it a couple of days.

I'm wondering if I can replace it for 50 bucks and 15 minutes.

This photo is not my car, its a stock photo of the same dash I found on the net.

Thanks in advance

If your car is 2002 or later and assuming you have left hand drive the plasticc/satin black version is 996.552.183.00 and lists for $291.02. If you have leather the number is 996.552.958.00, you must specify the color and it lists for $677.69.

Try sunset. IIRC, new ones go for around $150 shipped. The part number is 996.552.183.00.

I also wonder if the 997 version fits... 997.552-294.00.

Thanks for all the info.

not sure how it broke, im very gentle with my stuff.
its still spring loaded, but the front bar wont slide in place any more. you have to use two hands to open it and close it or it will fall off in your lap.

I have not figured out my part number yet ... everytime I head toward a repair date, something bigger in my life needs attention.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but my cup holder will not close. Same type as above. It acts like something is blocking it from latching. Anyone know how this style latches closed?

Well I tried a little silcone lube. No Help. Then just as I was getting ready to cry Uncle I got out my air hose and get a quick few shots of 60 PSI. Back in business. Not sure what worked or helped. But it is opening and closing just fine now. I guess I will get the dealer to look at it before my CPO goes out. Anyone know if this will be cover under the new CPO policy?
