Would you respond to a "911 Wanted" ad?
Used Porsches are pretty rare in my area. I've learned local Porsche trade-ins are generally wholesaled into LA because the local Porsche market is weak. Its a pain driving 50 miles to see a "possible", and this time of year daylight inspection is effectively on weekends only. I've wondered whether a "Porsche 911 Wanted, 1999-2004" listing on Craig's List would be a good idea or attract every used car scam artist for 50 miles. So, I figured I'd ask the people I'd be trying to reach; 996 owners. If you were trading in or selling, would you answer a "wanted" listing?
Don't rule out craig's list, but realistic as to what your looking for and the price your willing to pay when you put in your ad. Anything and everything should get a PPI before you buy it.
I'm pretty open on the details. Probably a 2000-02 Coupe with my $30K budget, Tiptronic perhaps. I could go for Cab if its not sun damaged like the two I've looked at. Not black. No mods. Lower mileage takes priority over year.
