I'd love to have one. It's nice to see that it doesn't just have an anniversary badge on it....I especially like that it has the extra 25 horsepower and special paint....if I only had an extra $88k lying around.

The only thing I like about it is the CGT silver.

It's one of the dumbest things I've heard of. What's the significance of 40 years anyway? Just another way to try to pump up sales or shove some more cars down dealer's throats.

That's a little harsh IMO. I think anytime a sportscar can survive forty years is very impressive. Very few manufacturers can say that. Plus, I think it's a nice package too, offering performance over fluff.
Cheers

For $88k, I would just get a used 911tt for $85k with low miles.

Doug,

Maybe it is harsh, but how can you say performance over fluff? Have you read the features list? Besides the X51 package, it has chrome look wheels, a couple of 911 emblems, special paint, trim rings, alu-look or painted interior parts, etc. I'd say that pretty much qualifies as fluff. IMO, the GT3 is performance over fluff.

Oh, by the way, did I say that I PREFER fluff over performance?

Eric,
OK ,OK maybe there is a little fluff there, but nowhere near that found on the previous special edition. Look at what you do get: PSM/LSD, X51,M030, 6 speed...plus a little "fluff" with the CGT color and it's a nice package. But I'm still waiting on the 997.
How is that TT Cab, looks like a nice car. BTW I never meant to say you liked fluff over performance.
Cheers

Doug,

No problem! In fact, I totally admit that I'm a "cosmetic," not a "performance" modifier. I'm more interested in posts relating to wheels rather than ROW suspensions!

The TT Cab is great, thanks for asking. I drove it a couple of hundred miles today to and from work and still cannot believe what an unbelievable car it truly is! Without a question, the TT is easier to drive and the gearbox and clutch are smoother than the 996. You'd think it would be the other way around!

For the record, the reason I bought this particular car instead of waiting for the one I ordered was because it had so many "fluff" options!

Eric
