Carrera wing

The new Carrera wing gets my vote...even though you didn't list it. I have however read some not so hot reports about betterbodies. I don't know them personally, and I have never seen their products in person. I'm only relaying what I've read in reviews. M.A. Shaw seems to have better quality products from what I've been reading....so I called him myself. For your car, I'd be looking at the new Carrera wing...and it'll fit a Cab too. I think the TK and GT2 wings only look good on wide body turbos....but that's just my opinion. Go gettum.

I like this as well. MA Shaw?

After the novelty had faded, I decided against the GT2 wing.

Now it is between this and the TK.

Votes please?

Would you happen to have any pics of this Carrera wing that you can post? Thanks!

Cab wing

www.mashaw.com shows all the wings you'll ever need to choose from. No...I don't work for them. I live and work in PA. I actually considered the CAB wing for my 2004 996. I went with a GT3 wing only because my ride is the 40th anniv model with the GT3 rear bumper and siderails. Its either high and tight, or low and wide. I went high and tight. Unless you have a turbo, i'd stay away from low and wide. But again, that's my opinion. Steve

MA Shaw Kits

Do you have or know anyone who has bought MA Shaw products? I checked their wing and it looks reasonable price vs. the oem from Porsche. I didn't see any GT3 front bumpers or side skirts from MA Shaw.Anything on fit or quality..they appear to be reputable..

MaShaw is good. No problems there. They are one of the "good" supplier of aftermarket pieces, along with Misha and a couple more.

www.mashaw.com www.mashaw.biz www.mashaw.net I don't know what the differences are but they are slightly different in product offering. At least the pics.

I bought a used gt3 wing that's a Shawn wing. Several years old and in excellent condition. Fits my 996 very well. Its a sturdy piece. Good product. Its at the paint shop right now. Steve

A bit off topic... but I wonder how a cab would look with the Sport Classic wing.

MA Shaw front bumpers

Well it appears to the member that MA Shaw is a good person to deal with..there are alot of threads with his products in them

The wing looks like the oem wing that he has for the cabriolets..very nice. The GT3 bumpers look accurate..but I notice that the bumpers are made out of fiberglass not poly or a combined composite. I didn't think you would want the front bumper fiberglass in case you rubbed it or hit and it would crack..yes?

Yes, it can crack easily. You can find bumpers made of urethane too. NRauto.com has some. I know the turbo look is available.

Or, you can run an FRP bumper with a flexible lip.

There is a company selling some custom fiber glass composite that is flexible. I do not have experience with them. I think is www.extremedimensions.com or do a search for DURAFLEX.

For the wings, you cannot go wrong with MaShaw.

I've seen this on ebay. Quite inexpensive. Reps of GT3 Aero, Ruf, GT2. Not sure of the quality of the fitment though.

Thanks for the additional links for mashaw. I only knew of the first one and it didn't show much.

And this should be the Carrera wing that some members are talking about?

http://www.mashaw.biz/996AeroCab.asp

Now, adding to the mix.

What do you guys think of the ERS Ducktail? I'm kinda liking this too.

http://www.mashaw.biz/ERSDucktail.asp

And the Turbo Tailbase? The top wing is fixed like a bi-plane but the site mentions that it can also be run at the bottom position. As the OEMs in Turbos get the top wing to automatically raise up on high speeds, leaving it down may compromise high speed stability, doesn't it?

http://www.mashaw.biz/996Turbofor996.asp

I also like this ducktail, but it didn't mention it would work on a cab.
