Question Dealer Programmable Features

I believe that the dealer has the capability to "program" certain features into the car (similarly to Audi and VW).

For example, the dealer can program the car such that the doors will automatically lock when the car starts moving. Aside from that, I want the alarm to "honk" when I lock the car. Right now, it's a pain having to walk towards the front or rear to see the lights blink.

Can someone list what other programmable features there are?

Also, what do we need to program these ourselves? On the Audi, I needed a VAGCOM to do so. Is it the same for the Porsches? But where do we get the codes?

I've searched and could not find anything related except that the dealer can program the doors to lock automatically.

Anyone?

No honk feature on Porsche, you would need something like remotekey from mods4cars for that.
For the codes search in all Porsche threads for PIWIS. The Porsche tool to code the features. You can also programm some of the features yourself with the Durametric Professional version.

people have disabled the microswitch in the center console cubby to get the honk upon activation (honks when something is left open... glove box, etc.) easy free diy.

two flashes, yes.. honk tells you your glovebox, center console, (and i believe... hood/trunk/doors open or ajar.) ...not sure about sunroof. iirc, the interior lights stay on for 30 sec or so as well. perhaps one of your switches are bad? i know i need to close my center console pretty hard to get it to latch and enable the switch. open and close everything snug and c what happens.

Do the side marker lights hack and you'll easily be able to see that the alarm is on as you walk away from the car. I had the same gripe until I did this hack.
