996 MKII [ looking for lowering springs ]
If you are going for looks do the H&R or Eibach springs. Can't really go wrong with those. You can do TechArt if you like, but keep in mind they get their springs from on of the above two and are usually more expensive.
If you want better handling, do coilovers. PSS9/10 is a good bang for the buck as Airrik suggested.

If you don't do coilovers either Eibach or H&R are good choices. I would look at Bilstien sport shocks as they are made to go with lowering springs.
