18" vs 19" Rims

Currently have 19" rims on my ride.

Was thinking about going to 18" rims because I hear they are more comfortable and handle better.

Just wanted to get some input on why people prefer either 18" or 19" rims.
The car has h&r springs on them so it doesn't look as 4x4.

Also, was looking to buy some 18's or 19's with PS2 tires but can't post on the thread yet cuz of my count, If you have any, please PM me.

Looking for more of a gunmetal or black finish since I have Arctic Silver, thanks

Cool

It really comes down to personal preference.

Most people here will tell you that the car looks better w/ 19's.

I had a beautiful set of AH Alurads in 19", and they caused my cars traction control to kick in when pushed hard in the twisties.

I went back to 18's and found the strongest, lightest set I could find. (Champion RG5's).

My car handles better, not traction control intrusions, and I have more tire choices. So it is 18" for me.

Well there's several factors that you need to consider here. Are you looking for function or style? What are you going to use the car for? Race or Street.

If your looking for looks then 19's is much better plus you gonna have the fender closer to your tires without going toooo low and scrappung your car a lot on the streets. If your lookung for function then 18's is the choice but if want to acheive a nice lowered look then you will go lower and more likely scrapping your Porsche.

I didn't see much difference with the ride with 18's and 19's.
This is because I dont drive my Porsche in the track(I use my other car and that's on 18's). Bottomline is it depends on your driving, your puspose and where are you planning to drive the car.

As per the above. If you are just going boulevard cruising then 19s will look nice. If you want to use the car as a sports car stick with 18s. Nice 18s can look easily as nice as sticking on 19s plus you get to keep sidewall height.
Cup cars all run 18s and they look just fine

Exactly. Its a common question with any car. IMHO I dont think a 30 series is that harsh of a ride, even the 25 series that is run on the 19's. Yes its better to have the most sidewall, but then again its a sports car- yes we want comfort but I like a bit of harshness at times.

I personally like the look of 19's and sacrifice just a little to have that look.

the sidewall issue as i perceive it to be is not to do with comfort but to do with feel and grip, heck get into my last cup and it would shake the fillings out of your teeth and the sidewalls were huge.

running 19s is perfectly safe and can give cars a ton of style vs a small trade off in feel. depending on what you want your car for, how you want it to look and a million other reasons will dictate what you choose to put on however, its an entirely personal choice. no one is going to say you immediately dont care about driving or sports cars because you put 19s onto your porsche but sticking with 18s will give you increased options from a performance point. its up to the individual how they choose to balance things off. going larger than 19 would be giving me concerns about your sanity and judgement however
ive got 315/30/18 on the rear of my car
