There's a definite flaw in this logic as used cars are just that. Meaning you could get several thousands off depending on condition. If the brakes/clutch/transmission are bad for example. Too many variables imo to just tack on a perceived value with little to no info other than car make/model/year...

Just get them in touch with your insurance company adjuster when the worst happens.

Thats BS...Sales Tax is a Just That...If i lived in PA i would take the DMV to Court...

That's why I only do all my clothes shopping once a year in Minnesota at the Mall of America. No sales tax on clothes or shoes. I just need to find a state with no tax on cars. haha.

thats why they want proof of purchase.... based on that, thats the tax you owe. Its just a stupid red flag that their program shows.... no biggie.

In my state, they wanted a proof of purchase in addition to a dealer quoted letter where I would have to bring my car to a dealer to have them assess the value of it.

Proof of purchase is no biggie but the latter is rediculous imo.
