"New to Me" '03 C4S

Just found this forum and really like the amount of information and discussion here.

Thought I'd take the time and introduce the newest addition to the family

'03 is the only good year anyway, so -- good choice.

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for the comments. I look forward to learning as much as I can about the performance mods that are out there.

Suggestions would be very welcome! Right now, the car is pretty much stock.

Well, I'm sure the suggestions will vary on the best performance upgrades and obviously will depend on your budget and overall usage and goal for your car.

Personally, I still have a 2002 C4S that I keep in the Porsche stable and continue to enjoy it...

Lowered on Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers (soon to be KW V3), Cargraphic Super Sound Mufflers, Cargraphic 200 Cell Sport Cats, IPD Plenum, Enlarged Throttle Body, BMC Air Filter, EVOMSit Software, Rollbar, B&M Short Shift Kit, RSS Rear Link Kit (Dogbones), RSS Toe Steer Kit, GT3 Alcantara Steering Wheel, Shift Boot & Arm Rest, Cargraphic 19" Racing Wheels Powder Coated Black, Ceramic Coated Black Factory Tailpipes and the list goes on....

Feel free to contact me as we have some great specials on upgrades for the 996 model years.

Most important - enjoy your Porsche!

Welcome to 6speed. Thanks for the photos.

the upgrades I found most useful are:

GT console delete. This removes the console in front of the shifter, allowing one's leg to drift outward. Suncoastporsche.

short shifter. While you are installing the GT console delete, put in a short shifter. Big and good difference!!

Then, join PCA and get thee to driving events.

I have been driving P-cars for 30 yrs, and the C4S is a great car. But, until you get it on a track, at >5k rpm, you will never really know it.

Best of luck, and welcome.

JB

Thanks again for the input! I'm in the process of putting together the budget for upgrades now and once I have the "list" together, I'll probably post on line and get some input on what to order 1st, 2nd, etc...

I have joined PCA and have signed up for my first DE event at Road Atlanta in mid/late April. Should be a blast. Anyone have suggestions for other tracks in the Southeast which are "don't miss" events?

Great Choice. C4S are excellent cars. I love the classic red reflector.

Oh no. The side markers have been changed! Here's an updated pic with the smoke gray.

Welcome! I will probably see you at Road ATL for The mitty or Petit Lemans! Other tracks are Roebling/Barber, and there is CMP (unfortunate PCA accident recentley here).

As far as mods, you gotta get an exhaust! My choice is a fabspeed. Also I would get different wheels....I love HRE (even have a set) but the chrome is not for silver(shameless plug I have a set of black Iforged wheels for sale). Beyond that I say just enjoy the car.

Here is a pic of my 02 C4S

I agree on the chrome wheels. Came with the car. PITA to keep clean.

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to stick w/ the HRE's, just waiting for the right set of 18's at the right price to come up for sale!

Interesting...I find my chrome wheels easy to keep clean. And when they are dirty, they kind of get a smoked look to them that is not unpleasant.

Excellent choice and beautiful color combo. I would suggest a clear-bra if the car is going to be a keeper.
