OEM 996 GT3 Wing on 996 C4?

Hi all,

I have an OEM 996 GT3 wing, off a GT3, obviously - will it fit a 996 C4?

Anything else I should know?

Connor

I believe you will need the entire hood as the mounting points are very different but not sure the GT3 hood will fit the C4

I meant wing. Had it in the title but not in the post.

It's the wing/decklid. Will it throw a code? Direct fit?

I knew you meant wing but the GT3 wing requires support columns on the deck lid that are quite different than those on the C4 deck lid so that is why I thought you would need the deck lid as well...if you have the GT3 deck lid/wing assembly then there is a good chance it will fit and I wouldn't think it would throw any codes...but you need a C4 expert as the 996 GT3 is a narrow body and I think the C4 is a widebody and the deck lid assembly might not fit...on the 996 GT3 MkII the deck lid is approximately 38" wide at the top (closest to rear window) and approximately 34" at the bottom (nearest rear bumper)...you should be able to measure your deck lid and see how close you are

By C4, I'm assuming '99-01 model in which it will fit. The C4S from '02 on is entirely different.

What he ^^ said. You'll also need a different wiring harness.

You will need a different wiring harness as the OEM one on the C4 ill through a code for the spoiler being missing, not up or down. Do a search as lots of owners have installed fixed wings.

Just to clarify for MiniD- The C4 is definitely a narrow body.

I can do some measuring tonight on an 01C4 if you still want... just holler.

Might want to think about the front end too (aero upgrade) unless you only plan on driving slow???

You will need to get a wiring harness to remove the active spoiler error code.

I think it should fit minus the wiring harness. The C4 is a narrow body as well. The C4s is the widebody. so if you have 4 wheel drive before 02' you shouldn't have too much of a problem. Best bet would be to maybe reuse the C4 hinges and bolt them into the deck lid. The biggest problem might be trying to open the deck lid without a broom or installing a cable release by the driver's tail light to open it alone.
