1/4 mile runs

Hi all,

I don't know if there is a sticky thread or not on this. If so, please direct me there. If not, who's running 1/4 miles with their 911's (both stock and mods)? What are your times? Where are you located?

Thanks.

ps i wasn't making fun of you, that just makes you my hero

it sound like when my buddy and i got a pair of bikes.
day 1: learn to ride
day 2: knee scraping on turns
day 3: wheelies and endos
then 2 weeks later we got bored and sold the bikes

LOL! Hey, a girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do. Now, as soon as I can get off the line like a normal person and not roll back on hills, maybe the drag strip is next. However, I don't want to be running 13's. I'd like a sold 12 and under car. Is it even possible to run a solid 11?

Next will be bikes. Boy, I hope they have plenty of bubble wrap for me.

12's sure, that shouldn't be too hard. I think that 11's might be pushing it until you are ready to spend minimum $10k and upwards of $150k.

Good grief. I didn't realize I was buying such an expensive toy to upgrade. How much will it cost me to get into the 11's? $2,500? Putting the intake kit on is a given. But wow, that's a boat load of money. I guess the real question is, do I even want to bother with something like that. It sounds like a lot of folks here do.

You gotta pay to play. Its just too difficult/expensive to make naturally aspirated 911's crazy fast. The price to power ratio for all motor cars is significantly higher compared to forced induction. The engineers at Stuttgart do know what they are doing believe it or not. The cheapest option to put you close to 11's would be a super/turbo charger kit. I know that TCP has a single turbo kit and you can put down close to 400 rwhp but its $10k plus labor.

I figured a SC would run me about $10K. Yes, you are right, you have to pay to play. Question though, why is it so much cheaper to run faster times in American muscle than you can in the exotic cars we own? I know the Germans know what they are doing and they do it damn well. This may come off sounding stupid, but is it because we own elitist vehicles and American muscle is just cheaper to trick out and get faster times without having to drop $10K out of the gate?

Muscle cars have massive displacement and those aren't cheap either to run fast times without forced induction. You can spend $50k on an 89 Monte Carlo chassis and all mods but then you can run 8's. I just think euro's look prettier so I stuck with them.

Well then hell, it just cost money to play in an car arena. Euro, American, etc... Don't get me wrong, I love American muscle (I just love car, period), but when you finally have the chance to buy what we have, it just enters you into a whole different world. Hmmm, going to the track should be fun this summer. I don't think anyone will be running her though. It'll be nice just to get a feel for what's out there (and that's if anyone is running Porsche's).

I'm hoping to run high 11's or low 12's when my car get delivered but I don't want to track it that much and risk breaking stuff.

What did you get? Brand spanking new or older with mods? And if I may ask, how much?
