Rattle Insanity
Rattle Insanity
I am deeply annoyed by rattles and am on a constant quest to solve them. My wife says I do it to drive her crazy by asking her to drive while I scurry around the car in search of rattles. I know there are people like me out there and therefore I must enlist your help!
The sensor for the keyless entry that sits on the center dash near the windshield is rattling incessantly. I have temporarily stopped it by folding a piece of paper and wedging it but it does not look good.
1) Has anyone dealt with this? If so, thoughts?
2) How can I take it out and work with it? Does it just clip on or is it screw on?
Any help will be highly appreciated!!

You can use the self-adhesive pads used for under furniture legs to avoid rubbing hard floors. They are made of soft fabric, and they come in different sizes and shapes and you can cut them with scissors.
Rattles are common and even are addressed in service shop manuals. The cars have padding in rattling places from factory.
There even is a DIY in renntech.org regarding rattles inside door, if I recall correctly. Another common place is under the hood of the gauge cluster, where leather rubs against the dashboard leather. Again, easy to fix padding in between.
