996 rear end whine

i have a minor humming/whining from the rear end that occurs @ 40MPH in both accel and decel,,

any ideas?

Prolly time to change gear oil. Mine had a slight wine till oil change @ 70k. I used mobile one gear oil, I think it was the... ok I forgot my indy did it anyways.
