Installed new mufflers tonight (kinda quiet)
After about 8 anxious weeks, my Speedtech mufflers arrived yesterday. I found them on this forum and ordered directly from them. Like any self-respecting car guy, I left work early today to install them.
The build quality is very good. The mirror polish was flawless and the welds look to be very sound. The fit is decidedly aftermarket. I didn't expect OEM fit but it took a little more elbow grease with a hammer & mallet than I'd have preferred. Most of the trouble was getting the OE mounting plates bolted to the Speedtech mufflers. But with a little coercion, they eventually bolted up.
I didn't have time to grab a sound clip but honestly it's probably not worth the effort. When I started it up, I thought I'd put a shiny pair of OE mufflers on. At idle they're exactly the same volume as the stock cans. I was hoping for a lot more rumble. Accelerating is probably about 10%-15% louder than stock, if that. Over 5k and you can tell a little more difference. On the bright side, there's absolutely zero drone when cruising on the highway. But considering how quiet they are, there shouldn't be.
I'm hoping that with a few heat cycles, they'll break in and get a little louder. I've had several motorcycle exhausts do that so I'm hoping car exhausts are the same. I used to have a set of Billy Boat mufflers on my Corvette and starting that beast up in a garage would set off car alarms on floors above & below me.

Follow up pics for new "true" quad tailpipes from Fabspeed
Guys and gals: These new black chrome Fabspeed "true" quad tailpipes are "The Bomb!!" They are so well made, and add so much rich class to the rear of my car, I want to get out and look at them every time I park the car!! The quality is outstanding even if the price is higher than most tips! Worth every penny and many comments come from observers when I drive up and park with the sport mufflers getting their attention first. A MUST for exhaust upgrades to show that something is going on under this car's bumper!! (Oops, now I can't see how to attach my pic file.....suggestions??)

Man I wish I'd found that Fister site a couple months ago. After having them for a couple weeks now, they've gotten a tiny bit louder. It's been a while since I last heard the PSE from the inside but I'm pretty sure my car is still quieter than even a factory PSE. I wasn't looking to tick off my neighbors or anything (I live in a condo complex) but I was hoping for more rumble at idle and a little more growl getting onto the highway. I think I'll ride with them through the summer and rethink if I want to try and sell/trade them in the fall.
