Radar:

I thought about one but if I did get one I would be more prone to speeding...that would just lead me to a ticket for sure!

The key is if you decide to get one, you gotta be religious about driving with it. I use the Escort Passports, had an 8500 x50 for many years. When I moved to Michigan and bought a Volvo, I pretty much limited its use for my "fast" cars. Wouldn't ya know it, the first speeding ticket I got in more than 10 years was driving the Volvo wagon. I since bought the Passport 9500ix. It saved my bacon just yesterday.

I have the Valentine for about 4 years now. Although I do not drive around So Cal at excessive speeds, I do drive faster than the speed limit on the freeways. I can say that I have saved me several tickets expecially driving out in the deserts. It can pick up a CHP following at about 1-2 miles back and when those arrows go off and you get a constant beep, sounding more like a machine gun than a beep, you slow down and let them just go past you. I really think it is a small inventment for the money and time is saves from getting a ticket for speeding. However the system is not perfect and the cops are getting smarter by the day. One of the tricks they do in So Cal is to set up a speed trap and then have a SECOND speed trap about 1-2 miles down from the lst to get those radar people who escaped the first one, thinking the detector is still detecting the first speed trap. Also they will set up along a hightway and not turn on the radar until you get about 1/2 mile from then and then they have got you cold, with no time to slow down. In my area we also have the motocops with thier only purpose in life is to stop speeders, and it really helps in those instances.

I have V1 and K40, ups and downs to both, but for performance I'd go with V1 (k40 can have laser diffuser also though)

I have been using 8500 x50 for many years also - love it and COUNTLESS saves.

I put a 9500ci on my C2. Police/HP are starting to use laser more so have a countermeasure vs. just an "alert" (which mean you just got a ticket) is a more proactive approach.

The 9500ci works great - has more range than my 8500 x50 and the custom install is nice so you don't have the clutter on your windshield.

Look at Blinder and Laser Interceptors or what comes with the 9500ci

I have used a Valentine One for 8+ years. I have one in every car. It is in my opinion the best in the market mainly due to its early warning and directional warning capabilities. But instant on lasers will get you so no detector makes you invincible. I also have laser jamming devices in my sports cars but that is another story...
