1999 911 and two car seats?

I searched the forums and found a couple threads about child car seats in 996s but did not see one about having TWO carseats in the back of a 996. I have a 15mo old and a almost 6yr old and am considering a '99 C2, although I would not think of this as a family car I was hoping it might work for dropping off at school/daycare. Both would be in forward facing and the 5yr old is in a booster seat. I am 6' tall - without smooshing either child is there a way all three of us would fit? If by a miracle the answer is yes - anyone have pictures? And how about my wife at 5'4 any chance we'd all fit?

I dont think you'll need a booster seat for a 5 year old 996 rear seats are pretty small. to begin with. I think there is the Britax seat which works in teh front seat and diasables the airbag. I've put a regular baby seat in my 996 and it is a pain it also doesnt fit all that well.

As of this present moment, my 4- and 6-yr old fits on the tiny rear seats pretty well. They only need the proper height for the proper fitment of the belts on their shoulders of which up to now I myself am struggling to look for boosters that could fit into that small shape of an opening. I'm even thinking of using thick pads or pillows to act as boosters to raise them up. So far from what I've read and seen in the forums regarding this topic, those that do fit are either no longer in production or are extremely rare and hard to find (and if I do find them, acquiring them can be difficult due to my geographical location). If anyone have any other ideas or have found some sources (within the conus) that do sell something that fits, please post. Thanks.

Have travelled short distances with wife, 11 year old and 3 year old. Good for school drop off for example. Bought a COSCO toddler seat at Target for $20 bucks that sort of fits. Also used a folded up beach towel to raise the 3 year old to the right height. That actually worked better.

Have travelled 100 miles with the boy (3) alone, but with all 4 of us, its like 10 minutes and the bi#$@ing begins!!

It depends on what the legal requirement is in your state. In NYS, booster seats are required until age 7 with exceptions for size/weight over a certain threshold.

I have 2 toddlers, and use 2 Recaro Vivo's in the back. I did not take out any seat cushions. Tight fit, and I have to help the kids buckle up but hey they enjoy the ride too!

I have 10 yr old and 5 yr old girls who regularly go in the back - the 5yr old in the seat part of the booster (it detaches from the back). I don't use a booster for the 10 yr old, although we do in my wife's Volvo. Both girls are petite - I doubt either will top 100 lbs when they're adults.

When the 5 yr old was 4, I did have her in a child seat and the 10 yr old in the bottom part of the booster - it was fine. They were good on trips 1 hour plus.

The little one especially enjoys the 911.

Go for it and have fun.
