997 side mirrors on a 996 ????????

Well I guess nobody knows the answer from my previous thread if a 997 side mirrors fit on a 996 body....I saw a pair of 997 mirror on ebay & I decided to buy it on an impulse not knowing whether it'll fit or not....Let me be the first to tell you...HELL NO IT DOESN'T FIT....The mounting holes & connector plug does not lines up right...I wasn't about to let all that $$ go bye-bye so I was determined to make it work...One good thing was that it plugged right in to the oem connector...The mirror moves in a wierd direction but who cares as long as it moves...One of the plug mounting hole need to be bored out & the side trimmed inorder to lowered the plug down..I drilled 2 new holes & enlarged 1 existing hole..This was not an easy task like I thought it would be, but at the end I think it turns out pretty darn good...

here's the final result:

Wow, very cool... great job on the modding to make it work

Is your 997 style bumper fiberglass or polyurethane?

You're probably sick and tired of answering it. Maybe put a quote in your sig? "Yes, it's Poly"
