Day lighting in Canada

Just bought a 996 2001. Apparently the canadain inspection dept. by law oblige the mods on the US models to get the day lights on all the time. Is that right ? Mine does not have the lights on automaticly, I must turn them on. is it normal ?
I would like to make sure I am conform

I live in California (formerly BC) and I would prefer to have Daytime Running Lights as well! I have seen some LED light bars that accomplish this....

I bought the kit shown in the attachments on eBay a couple of years ago but never installed it. My buddy installed in on his car and it works well. You could easily duplicate it with parts from a Radio Shack or an auto parts store. Hope this helps.

That looks pretty simple... will it work on a 02 C4S with Xenon lights?

Fuse A6 is the fuse for the seat heating (this is why the kit contains an extras fuse, in case you don't have heated seats). Fuse A9 is the low beam right. These are common for all years of the 996's. So basically you are just putting power from A6, which is switched on with the ignition switch, to A9 that is switched with the headlight switch. Not sure how it powers up both sides on the low beam, but it does. So yes, it should work with a 03 with Zenons.

Well... I went to Radio Shack and got the parts, Thanks Dharn55!!! ..... 10 minutes later I had DRL.... now the question is... Thinks it's OK to be running the xenons all the time? I would prefer to activate the parking lights... think I read somewhere it was done but I'll be darned if I can find the answer.... I have even considered trying to get the fogs to light up... anybody have any thoughts on this?

As far as the xenon my othr car is Mazda speed6 and after 4 yeras now the lights goes on and off automaticly so they re on all the time, never had any problem or to replace any light up to now. There's a trick for the fogs, some people put a little tierap around the center behind the lights **** to keep it pulled out so as soon as your car is started the fogs goes on. In canada that's the way they go through the inspection instead of having to pay up to 750.$ for a mod's from Porsche !!
