WOOO Finally got my first Pcar!!

Found a low milage (35k) 2000 C2 in Florida with a complete service record and clean (weak battery and no horn?? Got money off for each) PPI from Champion Porsche. Was under factory, then aftermarket warranty till sept 09'. Drove it about 200 miles up I-95 and the engine started to move above 200 F...took it back to champion, busted water pump. (Thanks porsche Gods) Dude i bought it from split the $1000 bill with me, and now i'm in charleston SC with it!!!

Its nice enough (to me) that I dont plan on doing anything too serious on it for now, interior (black, 4spoke wheel, stock radio) or exterior. I think this car is crazy fast coming from a Hyundai Elantra...and I havent even driven it hard yet. Parking is REDICULOUSLY hard with the GT3 bumper...I'm way too nervous that I'm going to hit the curb since its so low, so when i step out of the car...my fat *** is sometimes halfway to the next row of cars.

Anyways, thanks to everyone that helped me wait to find a good deal! If my clutch needs changed in the next year, i might buy LN Engineering's tool to prevent IMS. Other than that, I'm happy as can be! Takes me twice as long to get gas...people wont stop coming over!! Pics are from my crappy phone...The side view is actually right before its loaded up on the tow truck haha. A friend of mine has a great camera, so hopefully i'll get some nice pics on the beach up here soon.

Thanks! the color is called arena red metallic...I was kinda skeptical based on pics when i went down to look at it...But the color is really vibrant in person. I spent about 3 months looking for 996 coupe...contacted close to 20 sellers, and when this one came up on autotrader, i knew it was the one! Good luck.

NICE! Congrats and enjoy....let me be the first to say, "Let the mods begin." I know you say you won't but it's a slippery slope my friend and once you start theres no end to it. It's actually a big part of owning and enjoying these cars! Again, congrats, nicely bought and enjoy.

BTW: a good mod to start with is a radar detector

Nice 996 great color my friend. Good choice with the options too! Go for a built in K40 system or radar detector. You might want to install a front camera system in the bumper for the parking, I am having trouble myself not used to how low these cars really are and I don't even have a body kit on mine yet. Again Congratulations on your first Porsche!

Congratulations on the purchase! I just got my first Pcar back in November ('99 C4) and actually just moved to Charleston, SC last month. Along with what Airrik and John L said, the guy I bought my car from has the K40 installed and its fantastic. Also, one of my first mods was installing a double DIN headunit and new speakers.....definitely made a big difference! Enjoy the car, if you need help turning wrenches then give me a shout.
