Thumbs up How much do you think is the labor cost for a PSS9 install?

I just want to get some feedback from my fellow 6speeders. I've been shopping around but can't understand why the price quotes I get for labor is substantially different from one another.

How much do you think is the labor cost for a PSS9 install?

I have a 2000 911 C4 with stock suspension.

I wouldn't pay more that $600 at a reputable shop.

If you got space and tools - its not a difficult job to put C/O in if you want to save $$$

Are all the shops quoting the install plus alignment and camber adjustments? I'll have to look at my records to see what was paid. I bought the car used, but I have the paperwork for the PSS9's that were installed.

True - I just got an alignment for $150 for standard adjustments. To do full ride height adjustments along with corner weights it would be in the $350 range.

Do it yourself and spend the money you'll save on labor and sway bars and drop link. You'll end up with a great suspension and have all the satisfaction of doing it yourself....taht's worth a lot and half the fun of owning these cars. I did the ROW M030, never done one before, and it was much easier than I thought it would be. There are plenty of step by step install instructions floating around and plenty of guys here you can help if you hit a snag.

That would be nice. If it's not too much trouble, please include the breakdown on the charges. Thank you.

So install it myself and pay a shop to do alignment and camber adjustments? How long did it took you to install your ROW M030?

I've seen quotes for $600 - $900 for the install alone. Alignment is in addition to that. Then that can vary pending on how you want it setup, corner weighted, etc.

Do it yourself and pay for the alignment

I am going to install PSS10's on my C4 next week. I will let you know how long it takes. I have read somewhere that the C4 is a little harder than a C2 as the drive-shafts on the front prevent the wheel carrier from tilting out, and if you undo the drive-shafts the required torque is something like 300 lbs+. I know that none of my torque wrenches go that high. I guess I will find out.

AS a sub thread... I just had new Hankooks installed and did the alignment... Big Brand wanted $129, the *other Big Brand shop* wanted $89 and after they informed me that the camber was not an adjustable feature I decided to pass. I found a Brake and Alignment shop where the owner was extremely knowledgeable and drove the car before and after and questioned me as to my driving style before determining the final alignment. His charge... $79.95! Provided me with a full printout ... before and after...

It is refreshing to find professional, qualified people that charge a fair price... If anyone is in the Sta Barbara area and needs the info I am happy to pass on the name and address...

My indy would charge me $100 per corner for a total of $400 without alignment. This price is applicable to any car, coilovers or springs/dampers.
