Has anyone got the LN IMS retrofit done in OC or LA? How much was the total cost and where did you go?

I live in So OC, but I am planning on taking my car to Callas Rennsport in Torrance to get the RMS and IMS work done. Tony Callas is a very expereinced Porsche technician and has been on several LeMans and Sebring GT race teams and comes highly recommended by Joel Reisner, 996 Chief Technical Advisor, for the Porsche Club of America. Give him a call and make sure to talk to Tony himself.

 

Thanks for the info. My local shop is telling me not to worry about it. Only a small percentage of the cars get the problem. They are probably right, but it seems like cheap insurance to me.

 

just for your information.

i was at my local dealer on a VW issue, and the head tech was complaining that 3 (three) 2008 997s (same engine as ours) were in for complete engine replacement due to IMS failure.
