silver mesh grilles
Instead of mesh I removed the black plastic grills in the back bumper of my C4S and painted them silver (my car is midnight blue, so the grills are almost invisible when black).

I decided against doing the same for the front vents. While I liked the look of doncapecod's silver mesh in his C2 with turbo look bumper, I think it works best because his car is silver.
To answer Ken: It took some time to do. You have to remove the rear bumber completely, which is not that hard, Then you have to unclip about 20 small metal (U-shaped) clips which hold the plastic grills inside the bumper openings, without snapping off the plastic pegs that hold them. The rest is easy. You should first prime the plastic with special paint for plastic parts, then silver, followed by clear coat.
