Quiet Exhaust and Less stiffness on the suspension

My 2001 cab apparantly has an aftermarket exhaust. I have no idea what kind, but the dealership even commented saying that's a nice exhaust system I got on. It's too loud for me and I wanted to know the best and cost effective way to replace with a queiter exhaust system?

Also, the car has very nice Gemballa 18inch rims, and it seems like the suspension is very stiff, maybe sports suspension or tuned a certain way? I feel every bump on the road. Any way to loosten that up and for the car to have alittle more give on the suspension so I can have a more comfortable ride?

I know guys spend mroe money for the above features, but I am looking for a more quieter and comfy ride.

You may just be looking for the stock sound, some just like it like that best.
I have a set that came from my 2001. They are as new, had approx 12K miles on them when I replaced them a few yrs back.

PM me if you are interested in that.

I have both 17 and 18 rim sets. I like to run the 17 when I want a better ride. I have started autocrossing with my 17s and they feel just as fast, maybe faster. My 17s weigh less than my 18s too.

Do you have a picture? If you have a couple inches to spare in the wheel well it probably is the stock suspension which is pretty stiff if you are not used to it. I would love to swap exhaust systems but not sure how we would make it work. I am outside of Philly.

Here are some pics of the wheels and the back showing the exhuast tips. Not sure if these pics are helpful. How can I find out what kind of suspension and/or exhaust I have?

You're not gonna tell what aftermarket exhaust you've got just by looking at the tips. You need to look at the mufflers themselves and see what stampings, part numbers, or other identification is on them.

From the side profile of your ride height, you've definitely got an aftermarket suspension system. Whether it's springs only, spring and shocks, or coilovers we cannot tell by the pics. Again, you're gonna have to look at the suspension to determine this. Make note if you're using the stock perches, and if the shock bodies are black or differently colored, or if you notice any identification or part numbers. Take some pics of the suspension bits and we can help you out.

At the risk of sounding like an extremely idiotic amatuer (which I am), how can I get a picture of the suspension, and the exhaust? DO I need to get under the car? Thanks.

It's okay if you're new.

The car most likely has an aftermarket suspension setup which on a P-Car can make it ride rough depending on the setup.

If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot over a PM. We were all learning one day! Congrats on the P-Car!

If you have a jack, lift up one end of the car (your car's jack should be in the front boot inside the spare tire). This will expose more of the suspension from between the wheel well and the tire. Take a pic of the springs and shock setup, and post it here, I'm sure you'll have an answer fairly quickly. You can also take a shot of your muffler cans at the same time.

as suggested, jack up the car.
I'd suggest removing one of the rear wheels... then snap a pic of suspension there, and while there your muffler is tucked up just behind the rear wheel... snap a pic of that from a couple angles.... someone here will likely know which it is by the lok of it.

also, while down there get a pic of the cats (tucked up at center very rear of car's rear bumper). Also get one of the exhaust manifolds... will help to determine if you have full exhaust or maybe just cat-back.
