As the title says - just curious on the 996 I have. I was expecting a CEL code after putting my cat delete pipes on but nothing after 600+ miles.

So I am wondering if its possibly had the ECU tuned as I know that turns of the second O2 sensor from throwing a code.

Thanks!

Good question, I bought a used car that said it had a "chip" but didn't really know how to verify that too.

+1 TTT i'm curious as well (besides one looking at the ecu itself for any stickers, titles, etc. that would lead one to believe it's tuned)

look up the factory max rpm before fuel cut off and see if you can exceed that.

Good thought - but I am unsure how accurate this is as most tuners offer only a couple hundred more "RPM" and our tachs are not the most accurate to show a delta of 1-3 RPM accurately.
