Got a few issues with my 1st Porsche!
Hey guys, i just picked up my 1st porsche, its a 2002 Carrera C4. At the beginning everything looked ok, except power steering pump.
1. Changed power steering pump, steering wheel still so hard to turn its insane.
2. Oil leak (propably rear main seal?) heard its common, i re-top the oil, a week later digital oil level tells me to refill, and every time i'm in idle, "level oil low" message comes on, when i top it up again, message goes away.
3. Got very slight ticking noise when car is in idle
4. From time to time (usually when i top up the oil), when I just start the car, WHITE smoke comes from ONLY the driver side exhaust for a minute or so.
Other than that the car runs mint
What do you guys think? Do you think issues 2,3 and 4 are connected?
Please help!

Re #2, do you see evidence of oil leak beneath the car where the transmission is mounted to the engine? If not, then RMS may not be the source of the leak.
Re #4, white some coming out of the exhaust is usually an indication of the engine burring oil. This may be connected to #2.
How many miles does this engine have?

White smoke is a sign you have overfilled the oil. The Flat 6 engine are not supposed to be overfilled with oil. I would make sure your oil is around 1/2 to 3/4 mark. Not full.

Burning engine oil *tends* to be bluish. That said, it's not a bad idea to visually verify the oil level rather than depend on the digital oil level meter.
Thinking about your tapping at idle...
It's *probably * nothing. These cars do make some noise. A P-car mechanic will be able to tell you in a couple of seconds if the noise is normal or not.
If it's an abnormal sound, then it might be a stuck lifter. Try changing the oil viscosity on your next oil change.

Thanks guys for leading me in the right direction. I did some more research on the things you guys said, and it could be any of the above issues. Il check them out one by one and update on the results.... but it still puzzles me WHY ONLY ONE EXHAUST PIPE???
This would happen if cylinders in bank 1 or 2 are burning oil, but not both. The exhaust system is separate or both banks.
on both of my 996's, high speed hard right hand turns will sometimes cause some smoke out the back.
not sure if it was just out one exhaust or not though.
this will sometimes happen if I push her hard just before I get home, the next morning when I fire her up, a bunch of smoke will pour out the back
(scarier than hell the first time it happened)
