I am sorry if this is a Nb question... I cuurently have a 2004 Wrx sti with aprox 340 whp and I love the AWD. I just sold my comp and made some extra cash and have a freind with a 2001 X50 package 996 T black on black mint condition.. I have been browsing this site for some time now and just wanted to clairfy a few things.. This will be my daily driver and we get alot of snow here . I also love AWD. I know this particular model he has is AWD but if the deal doesn't go through just want to know if all 996's are AWD... Btw- We did a few runs and we were neck and neck...lol. But the 996 just looks sooooo much hotter when driving..

yes 996 turbos are AWD

 

The 996 GT2 is a turbo but not AWD.

 

I think the GT2 is more of a weekend car rather than everyday car+ I don't think it has traction control (which would really suck in the snow)

All Turbos are AWD, The GT2 is a RWD Turbo, the C4 is an all wheel drive narrow body no Turbo and the C4S is an all wheel drive widebody no Turbo.

 

Was the X50 package available for the 2001 MY Turbo?

 

X-50 started in 2002
