if a woman says "you are the greatest lover I've ever had"....oh...wait a minute...that's true

so Mr. Spock...you only got 12.95 miles? I bet the problem was it was 13 miles until empty and 0 miles before it quit running

The computer still read 13, and my car started chugging.... Uh oh.... Luckily I was RIGHT AT an exit, so I pulled off. The car almost immediately stalled, but my momentum took me almost to the stop sign. I pulled off to the side and could see a gas station first driveway to the right after the stop. I contemplated pushing the car, but it was a pretty busy road, and plus, that's just not a good look! I walked over, had to BUY a gas can and got the car up and running again.

After I filled up, I really didn't have any place to put the gas can, so I donated it to a guy next to me who complimented my car.

Lesson learned. When the car says "consider range on remaining fuel," you better consider that she'll die at 13 miles or so!

It only said "Consider Range", when it gets to like 2 miles left it should say "How ******** if you don't want to push this 3600 lb pig to a gas station STOP and fill up!"

My wife left her car with zip gas in it and asked me to go fill it up. I literally coasted into the gas station!

i'm thinking its from junk building up in the fuel tank over time and the car counting it as 13 miles worth of fuel. i know a friend of mine told me he replaced the fuel tank on an old car of his and there was like 10lbs of sludge in there that accumulated over the last 10-15 years.

i always treat 1/4 tank as empty. So not to get caught at the real empty and to avoid sucking up any potential dirt/sledge in the tank.

Yes, me too. Just wondering how to get rid of the dirt if any. Perhaps some additive?

^ what's that additive supposed to do? dissolve the sludge into the fuel so it ends up in the fuel lines / motor? about all you can do is replace the fuel tank..

I've made that very stupid mistake a few years ago. Computer read 11 miles and I was already entering the off-ramp. Car died and stalled out in the middle of the off-ramp. I now treat 1/4 tank as empty because running the car to the red light often will cause the fuel filter to clog up with junk.

I get pretty scared at 20 just cause the needle is so low but now I know to be extra careful.

Funny thing is if I'm close to home I'll put like 5 bucks in since the car isnt a daily, just to get home and people look at me like I'm crazy.
