I've asked them already. They said no such trim piece existed and that the HVAC controls could only be fitted in the lower slot of the lower console.

I put my HVAC controls in the bottom slot and put a shelf/cubby in the top slot. Why not just do it that way?

HVAC top/bottom

I could have done HVAC in the bottom, but I think you need a different opne tray for the top slot then ? I saw those were available on some of the parts web site. I'm not sure if the installer cut the bezel to fit the HVAC into the top slot, doesn't look like it - but yes - it does stick up a little higher then the console. From the front you do not notice that (only if you look closely at the side). The bigger issue is the double din bezel .. the installer fabricated the bezel from ABS - but it is still not a perfect match for the factory finish. I ordered the bezel only from Eurospeed on ebay (I didn't need to buy the whole kit) - but didn't have time to see if that fits better yet. Also note - they put my bluetooth mic at the top of the double din unit (hole in the bezel). I'm not sure that is best location for mic - but didn't need to run wire to steering wheel (like I have seen others do) or sun visor.....

That's what I did:

But the HVAC-controls buried down behind the gearleaver isn't exactly the best solution if you want good ergonomics.

True, the tray is different in the top slot compared to the bottom one. I have both, since I tried to put HVAC on top the first time 'round. My monitor is a 8" touch-screen with a lot of work done to fit in that space. It's considerably larger than "double DIN". I had the factory PCM system so I already have a mic in the factory location (To the left of the dials).
Guess I'll get the standard bezel and see how it fits.

Hope this helps. Two pics of the stock set up with the HVAC in the lower slot. (I replaced the CD holder with Brockway but it could just be a tray also)

I put my HVAC control on the very bottom and bought a new cubby from the Porsche Dealer for $35 which fit just above it.
