Rattling noise coming from dash. Ideas?

I have a noise in or around the dash pod, vent or possibly the mirror adjuster on the drivers side. It sounds like a scratching / rattling sound. Any ideas what may be causing it?

...No, it's not a loose nut behind the wheel.

I accessed the 2 pod retaining screws and found out that the retaining screw on the right side of the dash pod was totally missing and the left side retaining screw was loose. Tech who worked on it before me must have been in a hurry...

The other noise seems to be coming from the drivers side interior windsheild pillar trim. It sounds like one or more of the barbed trim retainers may be broken or missing. Does anybody have pictures of the trim removal process?
