Rear Wheel shifted on 2001/996

Can anyone help? Weird, I just recognized this because I put 295 tires on the rear and they hit the fender on the driver side. The wheel shifted somehow to the rear of the well. Did not bother with the 275 tires.

Went to my shop today but they weren't sure if an alignment will do it and recommended the Porsche Dealer. Before I go there I wanted to find out if one of you has experienced the same and/or has a suggestion.

The wheel on the passenger side is perfect in the middle, but the wheel on the driver rear side is way off to the right.

Thanks.

Somethings bent or you have severe toe-out or your wheel isn't completely flush against your rotors.

perhaps your caster is off...check alignment?

do you have adjustable control arms, or adjustable dogbone arms?

Something is way off there. Check all the attachments and control arms on the suspension. Is the car drivable?

Might be tire size is too big

I had 295's on a 19x11 wheel on the rear of my 996 nb and it rubbed, I dropped to a 275 and it worked well, no rubbing. I then went to a 315/25/19 and no rubbing, the side wall height on a 295 is bigger than the 305,315 and 275. I could not run 295's on my car. Call Eli at Wheel Dynamics and give him your wheel size and offsets, I bet the overall diameter is to big.

your sub frame may have shifted due to pervious accident... have the shop un bolt and take measurement and shift the subframe back in... a Porsche shop that knows what its doing sould undertake this...

X2, seems like you need to get new tires first to eliminate the rubbing, then get your castor back in place and redo alignment.

On another note, I would inspect the wheel well to make sure paint hasn't rubbed off to bare metal.

Yes. The car drives fine. No problems at all.
