997 upgrades

Are there any bolt on 997 upgrades to a 996? If not it seems cheaper and easier to go with fabricated aftermarket pieces. Am I missing something?

I have a question . doe the 996 turbo deck lid and spoiler fit on a 996 narrow body. is it interchangeable? or do i need heavy modifications on it. ?

There are aftermarket 996 to 997 conversions but they suck because most are fiberglass and dont fit well. First i bought fiberglass fenders and did not like them at all because they were nowhere close to a fit. The only way was to modify them and instead i bought originals and made the originals fit. so fiberglass is crap.

Do other 997 drivers think you have a 997 as well?

if you change the door to a 997 will this get around this?
im struggling to see how you can keep the 997 arches unmodified as im not sure where the problem in fitment lyes

i want to install techart carbon 997 arches to my 996 and with this obvious hurdle of welding i will need to get around this!

note i will be putting on rear 997 quaters so there should be no issues with fitment

I suggest you do more searches here and you will be able to see why this is necessary. It has nothing to do with the doors, the lower 997 rocker flares out towards the wheel well where as the 996 doesn't. If you use the lower portion of the 997, the fender wheel well area at the bottom where it meets up with the rocker panel will be bulged out and not contoured to the lines of the 996 rocker panel.
