There is only 1 996 member on the board with our turbo system. I am sure he will chime in, has a 3.4L just like yours. Just got in our new specific catted headers built to work with the turbo system and we have 5 in queue to leave before next monday.

I have the IMA Motorsport twin turbo kit on my 996 C4S and love it. TPC makes a great kit too.

I dropped my '06 997 C4 off with TPC in the winter and picked it up in the early spring 2010. I've got the TPC Turbo and electronic boost controller. After tagging along with Mike Levitas as he was doing development work on other 997's, I decided it would make sense for also upgrade the suspension, so I did that as well.

I've had my upgraded 997 since spring and it's been great. You can find several posts that I've made on 6speed and PM me if you'd like to discuss further. The 997 was always fast, but the car is dramatically faster now and I always have a mix of a huge grin and a little bit of fear, every time I step on the gas. I wasn't focused on the exhaust sound as a reason for purchase, but when I got it back, I was overwhelmed with positive feelings for the new sounds. It has a deep bass sound at idle and isn't obnoxious when you drive around town or at low RPMs. However, if you get on the throttle (3k+), then it sounds and feels like you're strapped into a rocket. Really cool and I love that too!

I also liked the suspension updates. I had a modded BMW 323ci with improved suspension and my stock 911 couldn't compare to the handling of the BMW. That perturbed me so I went with the lowered suspension(adjustable coilovers) and bigger swaybars. That's dramatically improved the handling although for driving around town the ride's a little rougher. Overall I'm happy with that mod as well.

I've driven the car on both short and long trips and had many high speed runs with it. It's always run great.

Since I've picked up my car if I've had any questions, I've had very quick response from Tom, Josh, Casey and Mike Levitas. These guys are into cars and are responsive to feedback and questions.

So... 2 thumbs up from me on working with TPC overall and for their Turbo and suspension products.

I'd say go for it.
The biggest thing holding me back is mines a 99 cable driven. A few months down time is fine but I really don't want to be without the car more than 3-4 months.
I guess the 05 issue's I've seen is what I'm worried about on top of the DBC vs DBW tuning difference.
I'm sure for your year, it'll be fine.

Considering you just got a new exhaust, I'm not sure if you would want to get rid of it so soon if you go Turbo. If you go SC, you can keep your existing exhaust.

GRGx3 is infamous around these parts
Any problems with clutch or other drive line components holding up given the increase in HP and torque?

Driveline is fine... Clutch depends on age... We have run 500whp on caymans running the stock 997S/X51 clutch and it is perfect for the job. We have suggestions depending on application.

alpine:yea true!Man you now my car better then me:-)
SC let me have my existing exhaust which i love. Also they have promotion for $6800 plus install.
TPC is quoted me $9500 plus center radiator, plugs etc...total install around $14000.
TPC sound like better product and more gains BUT some negative feedback around.
