V1 not staying in lighter socket

I've heard that Porsche's have a slightly bigger cigarette lighter than normal cars, but up until recently I haven't had any issues with it.. But over the past month or so, it seems like the slightest bump in the road will cause my V1 to lose power, unless I jiggle the connection in the lighter socket. In my other cars, the connection is rock solid. Short of hard-wiring it (shops around here quoted me $90, I guess it's a Porsche tax since they only charged me $25 to have it hard-wired in my other car), are there any known solutions to this problem?

I have had this same problem with my cell phone power adaptor. I have been told there is a black collar sort of item that fits in the socket for a more snug fit. Do not know for sure as I am still searching. Please post if you find out anything.

Get it hard wired, that's the best way to go.

Search the site or go to renntech.org it's a 20 minute job at best. Very easy to do... I have done several of them...

thanks a ton! out of our four cars (two are Pcars), only the ferrari has incessant popping out of the v1 cord which renders it fairly useless.
