New here, Want to say Hi and have some questions

I never was a Porsche fan, I never drove one more than just around the block, however few months ago I met my friend at the gym and after that we were going to his house, so we exchange our cars, I drove it for about 15 miles or so, all in the heavy traffic and not so smooth of a road, when I got out of the car, I was really disappointed, about everything, especially about the speed, I know I couldn’t compare it with my car, they are not in the same class, HP wise, but still I expected a lot more from a Porsche, anyway last week my friend told me he wanted to sell his car, for no real reason, he just wanted more space I guess, and since he was going to let it go a lot lower than the market value, I got it from him, I was thinking more of a investment, and after a week driving this car, I realized that I misjudge this car so badly, it is not turbo, but man it handles beautifully, of course it is not meant for long drive, it will not offer you comfort, but if you are looking for those, you would never buy Porsche to begin with, it is built to perform, and it does it flawlessly.
Now I have some question, I searched and got most of them answered, but still I appreciate some inputs, my questions may sounds stupid, but please remember, I have no experience with Porsche at all.
I hear a lot about Targa, how can I determine that my car is Targa or not, also what is C2 or C4, why there is different number, I know my car is called 996, is it like MB or BMW that they have another names E30 E36 which is for the generations?
I really like to add a wing, but no matter how many times I searched, I couldn’t figure out what type of wing I could get, knowing the rear spoiler will raise after 75mph, so the rear spoiler has to be modified? Could be just bolt ons?
I would like to very slightly tint the tail lights, I got the answer of how in here, but no one mentioned that it can be done just very lightly, or just like a light layer of tint, I don’t want it dark.
I know if I want more power, I should get a turbo, but I really like this car and I don’t want to exchange it for a turbo, besides I know all its history, is there any way, besides turbo kits or NOS bottle, I can get more power?
The manual says, rain sensor, but I think it is a timer rather than a sensor, is that correct?
It smells like burn rubber, or oil, most of the time after I get off the car, I read somewhere that it is normal, is it really?
I would like to add dual exhaust tips, almost all my cars have quad tips, they came with them from factory, so I would prefer this one look like them, I see some places sale the quad tips, will it they be mounted by clamps or they have to be welded?
I am sorry about too many questions, But I think it is better to ask them all at once rather than post a lot of threads.
The car is 2001 Carrera Cabriolet

Targa is when the roof slides back, being that your car is a Cabrio you do not have a Targa. C2= Two Wheel Drive C4=4 Wheel Drive. 996 is for the generations. You can get a wing that will work with the deck lid to go up and down. I have one on mine when i find a pic i will post it. The motor is pretty maxed out but you can add- Exhaust,Intake,Intake Plenium,Chip Reflash and so on. 99-01 the exhaust tips are welded on so you would need to cut and weld unless you get an aftermarket exhaust with dual tips. Welcome to the site. Everything you need to know as probably been talked about on here so don't be afraid to use the search option. Post pics of your car soon!

You may smell a rubber-ish scent after driving for a long while and getting the tires really heated up. There are big tires in the back, even on the non-turbos. I took mine (2003 non-turbo) for 6 straight highway hours and could even feel heat coming from the tires in the back (in addition to motor heat) as well as smell a bit of rubber. You shouldn't smell too much of a burning smell, though.

Welcome!!! And congratulations on your new Porsche. You can put any wing on the car you would like. You just need the deck lid with it. That will eliminate the Spoiler that raises and shuts. I suggest getting a better exhaust over cutting the tips and welding on new tips. That's just my opinion. Cause, you say your looking for more HP. A good exhaust like Fabspeed and a Fabspeed header with cat delete will give you some extra Hp. Plus it sounds MEAN!!!

Welcome and congrat's.

I didn't realize the Tips are welded on...always thought they were clamped on and replaceable without any cutting...you may want to take a quick look at where your Tips connect to the exhaust...

For a Cab, this wing (Porsche Carrera Wing) is the one to consider...

I like that rear diffuser on that first cab! They had some for sale on here but the price was too high for a diffuser.

thats a really nice car. I love the rear diffuser. I want one so bad for mine. I just dumped 6 grand into wheels and sound system. SOOOO looks like the diffuser will have to wait a while. Plus I am buying a house in a few months, think the money should go there over a diffuser.

My car always smells like burning rubber after a spirited drive.

FWIW, I drove a 2010 C2S in Europe for a week and it smelled exactly the same way.

Thank you all for your time and effort to contribute, I got a clear answer to my questions.
As I was reading through the responds, I came cross some comments which I found them very interesting, such as what Tarek37 said, I always thought no offense to anybody, that Porsche is ugly, but believe it or not, only after a week driving the car, I do believe it is one of the best looking sport cars, I now do appreciate all the curves and lines of it, now I in my eyes it is a beauty.
Also, FLY996 and Gu9cci, thanks for the pictures, the rear spoiler sure makes a lot of difference, well after reading all the respond and do a lot of searching, I think I have made up my mind, I know myself I will not stop just by a spoiler and exhaust tips, like most of you here I cant stop myself, considering the price of all the accessories and parts I would like to get, will run easily over 10 grand’s and the difference between my car a turbo approximately is around the same price, I am going to keep the car for a while and then when I am ready I will exchange it for a turbo, in a way it makes sense, at lest to me, but I really love this car, I know it has not been abuse or anything, I wish I could justify to keep this one and get a turbo
Thank you all again
