Pilot Sport Ribs hard to get???

Damon - do you know anything about this?
http://www.funcarsonline.com/ubbthre.../page/0#107186

Seems like you can only get the pilot sport ribs via the porsche dealer or some have called Michelin directly, had them verify their VIN and only THEN would they allow tirerack to sell them the tires.

WTF???????

Why on earth would I have to jump through all these hoops just to buy a set of tires from Michelin when the tire market is pretty competitive???

So there are limeted options right now for OE tire sizes on 996 for 18s?

Do I see correctly that niether the PS2s or GdYear F1's come in OE size. (225/40, 285/30) ?

Cool

You have to give a vin # cause that assures that Porsche owners can get the tires they need. We come first.
Doesn't seem too dificult.

If I can get the fronts to wear out with the rears, I'll buy PS2s next time.

Ahhh nope.

On the reg C2/C4 with 'optional' 18" Carrera style 10J wheel......that tire is 285/30, check your manual. For C4S & Turbo it's 295/30 on the 11J rim.

I do not see the PS2 avail in OE size for a reg 996 w/10J rims.
