Post pictures of your HID'S
Hey, I did a search on this and came up empty handed..... may be my search hands too weak...but I'm researching on my hid retrofit kit for my halogen powered car. I just wanted to see the hid's on the porsches...they all have projector type hid's correct?

The assemblies (Lamps, Ballast etc) are manufactured by Hella.
You can check their website for spectral emission data on their lamps.
The ballast is the silver box on the rear of my headlight assy. pictured. I don't have any more info on that item.
BTW Xenon is not the only gas in HID lamps.
To have HID's legally fitted, you must have a washer system installed for the lights and an auto levelling mechanism to move the beam up/down during braking/acceleration etc to stop dazzling oncomming traffic.

While the porsche Xenon's are pretty cool, they are not very "blue" looking. You should check out the ones BMW or Audi uses, they are very Blue especially BMW. Also Nissian Maximas have some reasonably priced parts(especially for Xenons).

Hmm....the temperature for the OEm bulbs for bmw and porsche are the same. They are the 4100k D2S bulbs. The reason that the BMW's look more blue is the housing, angle and possibly the ballast. IF you want to make the bulbs look more blue you can get replacement d2s bulbs in higher temperatures ranging from 6000 -10000k. 6000k look blue and I wouldnt go any higher then that because it would start looking purple. Also higher temperature then OEM might be less luminous and even dimmer although brighter looking. My brother has the 6000K setup and my OEM 4100K is def brighter. However the 6000K do look cool!

Whoa!! that's a big headlight! Thanks for posting a detailed picture.
I'm doing the retrofit so I can have the real thing. Plug and play HID kits look crappy in my opinion. They also, blind other drivers and the cut off point is just...crappy.

I'm already aware of the BMW and Audi retrofits. I just wanted to see if there are more options out there for me to toss around.
