squeaky seats

Hi Guys,

Have you guys noticed that the 996 seats are sorta squeak? I dont think its from the leather, althought there is the leather squeak too... I think there is also squeak from the seat itself. Anyone?

is it rubbing anything (console, behind seat back)?

does the squeak go away if the seating position is changed?

try rocking the seat to duplicate it. then locate the sound.

it may be your leather too. maybe it needs to be conditioned. does it sound like an old sofa?

I believe the squeak in mine is from the bottom corner of the seat belt buckle rubbing on the leather of the edge of the seat. The passenger buckle is a little lower and doesn't seem to make any noise. Just yesterday I cut up a neoprene (?) cover for my 3 iron and put it over the buckle as a padding between it and the seat - a weird idea that came to me when I saw the golf bag in the garage. Didn't squeak when I drove the car, but the problem also seems to be temperature dependent. YMMV.
