What are the key difference between (02+ headlights Xenon VS Non-Xenon)

Besides that the other one has HID.

I'm talking about....

- Headlight design differences

- Projector differences

- Lens differences

Or is it just the HID that's different?

 

i believe the NON xenon does not have projectors. The Xenon has projectors.

With Xenon/projector:

without xenon/ non projector

The headlights I'm talking about is Identical but the difference is one is Xenon one is not. Asking if there is any other differences besides one being a Xenon.

 

+02 Non-Litronics Dont have Projectors, No Washing System and are Much Lighter, If you take a look at 996 MK2 Factory Cup Cars, they have the Factory Halogen Headlights... And Obviously the Litronics have Projectors, Washing System and are Much Heavier...

Same "Diffrence" in the Pictures Above but Diffrent Shape :P

 

Really? I thought the 02+ headlights were the same (including projectors) but one has a halogen bulb and one has HID.

But I found out all the information I needed from LA Porsche, Pelican parts and Porsche Walnut Creek.

So... 2002-2005 headlights

Here are the different kinds

1) Ribbed finished, with projectors available in Xenon D2S Phillips bulbs and non Xenon with projectors and uses H7 Halogen bulbs (Carrera 2, Carrera 4s, GT3 GT3 RS)



2) Mirror finished with projectors, available in Xenon D2S Phillips bulbs and non Xenon with projectors and uses H7 Halogen bulbs (Turbo, GT2)



3) This headlight version is for GT2/GT3 RSR. Inside built headlights (non-projector, non Xenon) much lighter. Race use only. Pictures below.

Actually there's no such thing as dumb question. If you don't know, simply ask. Everyone's knowledge is different.

He did ask a reasonable question because he mentioned year 99-05, which means there will be 3 different kind of headlights style. 99-01 headlights, 02-4.5 to 05' headlights and 2005 997 headlights.

It will require you to replace the fenders and bumper. If you decide to to the 997 will require to replace the hood as well.

He said Turbo... which was 2001-2005<< not a 997... MK2 Headlights only...

 

Likw those mirrored ones.
However, my 2004 40th AE has the ribbed but has the silver head washer and is HID. The ribbed ones in the picture appear to have no washer system? Also, never seen the plain mirrored ones without the ribs.
