Decorative Cluster Rings coming loose

I added aluminum-look cluster rings to my instrument panel during the summer and used the glue that came with the set. With the cold temperatures we're experiencing in the Northeast, they're starting to come off.

Has anyone else had this happen? What's the best way to reattach them so that they remain secure?

I have the aluminum rings as well on my 996TT. I took them all off and installed heavier duty double-sided tape inside the rings. No more problems.

Clear silicone works very well. You can buy a tube at the hardware store.

silicone or double sided tape, so if you want to remove them you don't have residue stuck to the plastic.

I put mine on with tiny dabs of clear silicone about 5 years ago. No problems since then.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll try using silicone once the weather warms up.

Silicone or 3m double-sided tape. If you use silicone, put tiny dabs around the trim and use blue painter's tape to secure the trim until it dries.

I ordered mine at Automotion.com, but I believe most places that sell Porsche parts and accessories will have them.

+1 on silicone. Works very well, never vibrates off and easy to "rub off" residue if you ever want to remove the rings.

Whatever you do, do NOT use superglue! Apparently some ring sets came with superglue for attachment, and there were some that needed to change the instrument panel due to spillage.

I think my set came with some kind of super glue. Its super powers seem to be less like Superman and more like Meg Griffin.
