question about techart mufflers

Anybody knows if a Techart Racing Exhaust, part "096.310.821.009", is suitable for tiptronic 99?

The techart catalog shows a "096.310.821.009.T" for tips, but i don't know if that is only their own inventory tracking nomenclature, or if there is indeed a difference.

This old FS item thread shows the manual version.

It will fit. The only thing I'd be worried about is vibration. Those do not have the flex pipes that 99-01 tip mufflers have. The 02+ manual and tips all had flex pipes(stock mufflers). Without those flex pipes, I believe there is vibration in gear at idle for the tip.

That's what I am worried about, vibration. One could argue that Techart's work without the bellows, but I have not found a verified version of the tip version.

At you stated, the OEM post '02 mufflers all have bellows, tips and non tips. So, I wonder if Techart is doing the same thing and one 2004 unit fits all. The unit I am looking at comes from a 2004 porsche.

Here is a link to a techart with bellows... (old LA dismantler site). They state there are 99-01, but do not specify tip or not.

Those have flex pipes. I see no reason why they won't work. If they have vibration on a tip, it would also have vibration on a manual.
The only "documented" case i know was on a FisterD modified muffler. A tip car had a 99-01 manual muffler installed and had vibration in gear at idle/stop. Switched to a FisterD muffler with the flex pipe and vibration was gone.

Yes, the last link shows flex mufflers. And they claim to be for/from a 99. We can assume a tiptronic.

The first link does not show flex pipes. But it is from a 2004. The question is, would it work in a 99! As a oem 2004 would in a 99?

1st link is from 04? That's odd...well not really i guess...all aftermarket ones AP, fabspeed don't have flex pipes for 02-05 etc etc. yet they use them on tips. The only one's I've seen flex pipes are afterhours.

Ok: the one that I am looking is the first link... a 2004 with no bellows. Hence the doubt.

I guess I can always try it, but what a pain having to put it on just to see.

Anybody else has some input?
