New car smell tip (cheap, easy and effective)

Add leather.

I bought my 2000 996 a few months ago and have been cleaning and improving it along the way. One of my bigger projects was to recover the center console in leather (turned out great) and I recovered a few pieces of the interior is leftover leather as well as building a sub platform for the rear shelf and covering it in leather.These pieces have contributed to an excellent refreshing of the interior to smell like new leather.

So. . . I bought another piece of leather and threw two pieces under the front seats of my other car and it created the same effect.

Check on eBay, about $40 for a piece 3-5 square feet.

@Bullittandy

Do you have any pics of the center console project? Just yesterday I was thinking this would be a neat project.

Here ya go, get the thinnest leather available and it will stretch like you can't believe. Have to use the strongest contact adhesive there is to kep it down under the emergency brake (ask how I know-lol).
