911 Production Numbers By Model By Year

Sorry if this information is in the site but I can't find it anywhere. Even when I Google it I still can't find anything. I even wrote a Valuation Committee member with the PCA to find out and his answer didn't make sense to me.

I am trying to find a chart, or something to that effect, that breaks down how many of a particular model were built and of those how many went to the US?

In particular, I was looking into my 2004 C4S Cabrio to see how many were made. The valuation committee member said the Cabs made in MY05 (112 worldwide-Starting In April of 05) and that none were made in 2004.

Does anyone else have any reference materials or a site I could look at? How can that be?

Much appreciated!

Ok, so he came back saying the numbers he gave were 997 numbers. He followed with my number of 4543 and "the data came from a book by Peter Morgan, “Collector’s Originality Guide, Porsche 911”, by Motorbooks. Peter is a well known author of Porsche books and has done very thorough research at the Factory archives."

The book is ordered. Still wondering if the information is available online.

Yeah I'm curious too, wonder how many of the 4543 where allocated to the USA and how many for Canada?

"cause you're right there sure don't seem to be that many '03 - '04 C4S cabs out there.

Keep us posted

According to Adrian Streather, in his seminal "Porsche 996 The Essential Companion", production numbers for 2004 were as follows:

2004 Carrera 4S coupe 4365
Carrera 4S Cabriolet 4543

Again, according to Streather,

"These numbers were all provided by PAG Historic Archives on June 20, 2007".
So they would appear to be total factory production numbers and not US import numbers.

I don't know... sounds a bit odd to me.

Most manufactures (especially of sports cars) produce at least 60% less cabs than coupes and according to these figures Porsche actually made more C4S cabs than coupes...

Maybe Mr. Adrian Streather was smoking a bit too much ganja when he wrote that report

This question has become particularly interesting to me too. I've been searching for an 01-04 white turbo tip for some time now and can't find any! Seems there should be some information out there somewhere showing production numbers by year, color, trim level, & transmission. I'd be curious to know just how few of what I'm looking for there actually are.
