New Rear Spoiler Install

I just acquired a used rear spoiler for my 99 Carrera.
Since it is not the correct color, the first thing I will need to have done is have it repainted.
The seller stated that it attaches to the stock rear lid cover. This is the "Taco" shaped Porsche spoiler. Think that is the GT-3 model.
Does any one have any install suggestions or has any one attempted this type of install?
I am all ears!!
Thanks.

hmmmm....not that i know a lot about these things, but i was convinced that the GT3 mk1 "taco" wing comes as it's own decklid... I don't see how you could attach it to the existing decklid.

i have one on the way that will be here tomorrow, and it comes with it's own decklid.

I have a guards red factory GT3 mk1 "taco" wing. Of course it can always be repainted to suit your needs. I paid $2400 from By Design, I'll sell it for $1800 plus shipping. I live in So. California. BTW the wing is attached to the deck lid.

Thanks for the offer. I just saw the same wing and deck lid in silver (color of my car) sell for $850 on Ebay. I just bought the 996 about 2 weeks ago and the wing is on like #8 on my mod list. I will be patient and hope a deal like that passes by again Thanks anyways.

Rear Spoiler

Here is the web site where you can see the actual rear spoiler.

It may be an after market wing - not sure.

It's aftermarket, replaces the retractable unit.

Ok, so you keep the decklid... But that wing in his eBay picture looks like the base of it is bigger than the retractable wing...?
